Meet Roxy
I’m Roxy MtJoy, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit consultant with more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and organizational leadership. I work with organizations that have ambitious goals, limited time, and people who care deeply about getting the work right.
As the former Executive Director of Pittsburgh Festival Opera, I know what it’s like to balance a compelling mission with a budget, a board, a small staff, and the next deadline. Under my leadership, individual giving at PFO tripled. That experience shapes how I work today: I help clients set priorities, build stronger relationships with donors, and create plans their teams can put into practice.
My work spans fundraising strategy, grant development, board engagement, and strategic planning. Sometimes a client needs a clear path forward; sometimes they need someone to help carry the work across the finish line. In either case, I bring practical tools, honest conversation, and close attention to what makes each organization distinct.
I also hold an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. Storytelling has always been part of how I make sense of the world, and it’s part of how I help nonprofits communicate the value of their work. The strongest case for support begins with a clear understanding of what an organization does, why it matters, and what it needs to thrive.
